| Like the square abstracts, these masked abstracts are also worked with masking tape. Several layers of paint are worked with each successive layer masking part of the layer below. This technique requires a good memory for what has gone before as by the end of the process, virtually the entire canvas is masked. Only when the tape is finally removed is it possible to tell if everything has worked to plan. This is one of my favourite styles of painting as the final unwrapping is greatly exciting and often yields unexpected results. | |||||||||||||||
