These palette knife abstracts are often the result of my desire to express pure emotion through paint. Storm, for example, was painted after a tragic night when two friends of mine were lost at sea in particularly bad weather. I work purely with palette knife and at speed, hardly allowing myself time to consciously think about the process. As a result all of these paintings are very meaningful to me.
