My stained-glass abstracts are, as you might imagine, inspired by the glass work and designs of Frank Lloyd Wright and Evie Hone, a popular Irish stained-glass artist of the twentieth century. Combined with my love of geometrics, I show here a selection of work that encompass these design elements. Very precise blending of colour by brush is required to achieve the sense of depth in these pieces, finished with the final enclosing black lines. The completed paintings give the sense of being back-lit and seem almost to have a luminosity to them and can readily be imagined as stained glass panels.
